Not Like the Other

Take a hard look at the political leanings of the majority of Americans. We are mostly moderate, temperate, and measured in our decisions and goals. We're not swinging hard for socialism, nor are we flirting with autocracy. But what do you see in Congress? Extremist is on full display. The hardliners of the Republicans are in control of the House of Representatives. This is minority rule. We are forced to temper our fair and reasonable goals, tinting them with extremism, in order to get the laws passed to run our country. Look at what happens when we, the people, refuse to pay our bills unless we get an extreme measure enacted. The truth is we need to make some changes to truly reflect the voice of the American people. Until we make those changes, then the pace of progress in this country will forever be stymied by the power-grabbing extremists of the minority party. This isn't to say that we don't have extremists in both parties, but if you look at the make-up of our country, and the make-up of the political parties, one of these is not like the other.
