Darkness Falls

This podcast was recorded the week that Roe v. Wade, what all of the Supreme Court justices have called “settled law” at some point in their careers, has been overturned. As it happens, apparently “settled law” is just a name for things and doesn’t really mean that the law is due any respect in the courts.

But this is an extremist court, appointed by a minority government, who doesn’t represent the people. One of the members is part of a cult straight out of Handmaid’s Tale, two are alleged sexual assailants. They cherry-picked history to make this happen, and on the chopping block next? Gay rights.

Trigger laws already reduce women in 20+ states to second-class citizens behind corpses. That’s right, dead bodies have more rights than women in these states due. How could this happen in the “free nation of America?” Easy. It’s our inheritance for compromising on human rights for so long that we no longer have a shared understanding of what it means to be an American. Listen for more.
