Standards are for Other People

“The immigrants are coming! The immigrants are coming! They’ll rape your wives and daughters!” So goes the chant of the right at the moment. There’s hate-filled rhetoric oozing out of right-wing talking points on every single speech on the right, including and especially the speeches by Donald Trump. What’s the problem? A lot of us are afraid for our wives, daughters, and sons and husbands for that matter. Immigrants have committed crimes before, especially in a high-profile recent act.

What about Donald Trump, though? The man was literally convicted of rape in a civil court. Why is it okay for him to be the leader of a party that works so hard to scare people with stories of rape and murder?

Because he’s the leader. In this episode, we get deep into what makes the right, the right. And answers at least part of the question of why the right are completely fine with what the left perceive as their '“hipocrisy?” There’s nothing wrong with this in their view, and if you’re trying to make people equal, you’re in part working against the laws of nature (according to them, disproven as it may be). Listen to this episode to learn more about the distinction between right and left.
