No Nation an Island

No nation is an island, and neither is any person. We exist in communities, interconnected, and it is through these relationships that we gain strength and power to allow us to pursue our own destinies. When I look to my left and right, toward my friends and family, I can hardly imagine a world in which I would deliberately antagonize them, or abandon them in their times of need. Yet this is exactly what our nation is doing to our partners in this life. Our long-standing alliances are being threatened by the Trump administration, and our welfare programs are being stolen by the Republican party so drunk with power that they can’t see their own limitations.

This cannot stand. This will not stand. The American people will reign them in, and it’s already beginning, because the one thing the American people cannot abide is a tyrant. But to do that, you must understand the truth: that our current administration absolutely does not have the best interest in America at its heart.
