How Democracy Dies

Our heart goes out to Nancy Pelosi and her husband Paul, who have experienced a tragic and terrifying break-in and assault. We wish nothing but the best to Paul and a smooth recovery. At Right and Freedom, we have a lot of opinions about a lot of different things. But the reason we started this podcast was because of shootings in Texas and our stance against violence. Every voice in America should universally condemn the actions of the home invader.

Recall, by the way, that Nancy Pelosi is third in line for the presidency behind Kamala Harris. This makes her the third most important person in the world, and if people can get into her home and  be intimidated, nobody is safe. What this does is sends a strong message: enter politics at your own risk, and a lot of the best people, the most responsible and capable people, will back away. This will leave only the extremists who are too far into their ideologies to be swayed by personal risk. And don’t be confused. The demonization of Nancy Pelosi, in which nearly all Congressional Republicans and Trumpublicans have participated, is what brought this about. And…already…the smear campaign is under way. If you don’t fear for our democracy yet, then this event should terrify you.
