Agree to Disagree?
There are some significant political differences between the left and the right on many issues. Gun control? Abortion? Neither are one of the main political sticking points. Yet we have politicians who would die on the hill of disrupting abortion access. Why?
Here’s the deal: whether it’s right to “agree to disagree” depends on the situation. When we’re talking about putting children into cages and separating them from their families, it’s not okay to “agree to disagree.” When we’re talking about exporting hard-working Americans because their skin is darker than yours, it’s not okay. There are a ton of scenarios in which it’s not okay to “agree to disagree.” However, we don’t have to. On most issues, Americans of all sizes and shapes agree about the potential strategy. This means that a lot of what divides us is, frankly, wag the dog. Nobody does this better than Donald Trump (out of all the things he’s said he’s the best at, this really is something he excels in). Kamala Harris, on the other hand, is a uniter.
So the question is now to us, America. Will be be “united we stand,” or will we be “divided we fall”?
